WHAT IS A DTS?
​Discipleship Training School (DTS) is designed to help you understand God more deeply, live more like Jesus and identify your unique gifts and purpose to use in missions. 
We get international YWAM speakers with mission experience to teach in our 12 week lecture phase. 

The LIVE-LEARN experience of living together in with other students is part of the Character building and a real part of a YWAM DTS

DTS is a full-time, residential training course which begins with an 11 or 12 week classroom phase, followed by an 8-12 week outreach time. The DTS emphasizes cross-cultural exposure and global awareness, preparing students to answer the call to:

The Discipleship Training School is a requirement for applying as YWAM staff, and serves as a prerequisite to all other training programs. The DTS is offered at YWAM locations all over the world. Some schools have a special focus on particular areas of ministry or nations.

Students will stay together in a YWAM Student house with staff members as house-parents. Every week we have a different experienced missionary as speaker - with different themes like: Studying the Bible, Hearing God's Voice, Father Heart of God, The Holy Spirit and The Great Commission.

COST (LECTURE PHASE ONLY): 
Category A: For first world countries our DTS costs $1400 (R20 000)
Category B: South Africans R15 000
Category C: South Africans and third world countries cost $700 for 3 months (R10 000) - including housing, food and classes.

COST (OUTREACH):
Outreach cost will depend on the destination from $1000 (R15 000)
Please note there is one price category for every student concerning outreach.

OUTREACH DESTINATIONS: 
We will pray during the course about where we will do the international outreach. Usually we connect with an international YWAM ministry or YWAM in Africa.

for the Potchefstroom Disicleship Training school :
  • Basic knowledge in how to hear the voice of God and to walk in God’s provision
  • Understanding  a biblical worldview and  the influence of how other worldviews work
  • Knowing what happened on the cross and the practical implications thereof
  • Getting to know the Father Heart of God
  • Coming to know God’s character, spiritually grow and a basic knowledge to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit
  • How to do missions and practical evangelism
  • How to walk in the Lordship of Jesus
  • Basic knowledge of marketplace missions
  • Basic knowledge on how to lead worship and how to live a lifestyle of worship.
  • Living in life-giving relationships and how to handle conflict.
  • Understanding the DNA and the history of Ywam
  • Introduction to the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how to walk in them
